Water Soluble Fertilizers – Efficient Nutrition for High-Yield Crops

Water Soluble Fertilizers (WSF) are fully dissolvable nutrient sources that provide instant and complete plant nutrition. Unlike conventional granular fertilizers, WSFs dissolve entirely in water, making them ideal for foliar feeding, drip irrigation (fertigation), and hydroponic systems. They are particularly valuable in precision farming, horticulture, protected cultivation, and high-value crops, where nutrient efficiency and plant response time are critical.

Description

WSFs are composed of primary nutrients (NPK) and are often enhanced with secondary nutrients (Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur) and micronutrients (Iron, Zinc, Manganese, Boron, Copper, etc.). Their quick solubility allows direct uptake through both foliage and roots, making them highly effective across various growth stages of crops. They are customizable, crop-specific, and adaptable to a wide range of farming practices, ensuring optimal crop health and high yield.

Key Benefits

Rapid Nutrient Absorption

WSFs are completely water-soluble, ensuring fast and direct uptake by plants. This results in quick visible improvements in plant vigor, growth, and productivity.

High Nutrient Use Efficiency (NUE)

Nutrients in WSFs are readily available in ionic form, which reduces losses due to leaching, volatilization, or fixation, making them highly efficient even in poor soil conditions.

Tailored Nutrition at Every Stage

Available in stage-specific formulations (vegetative, flowering, fruiting), WSFs allow growers to precisely match plant nutrient demands at each critical phase.

Versatile Applications

WSFs are perfect for foliar spray, drip irrigation, flood irrigation, hydroponics, and aerial spraying, providing flexibility across farming systems.

Improved Crop Quality & Yield

Regular use of WSFs leads to uniform flowering, better fruit set, improved size, color, taste, and shelf life—key factors in premium crop production.

Supports Abiotic Stress Tolerance

Enhances plant resistance against drought, salinity, cold, and heat stress, resulting in more resilient crops.

Cleaner and Safer

Being residue-free and non-toxic, WSFs are safer for the environment, beneficial microbes, and can be used in organic-compliant programs when certified.

Application Methods

1. Foliar Spray
  • Dosage: Dilute 5–10 grams per liter of water.

  • Spray evenly on foliage, covering the upper and lower leaf surfaces for maximum absorption.

  • Ideal for rapid correction of nutrient deficiencies.

2. Fertigation / Drip Irrigation
  • Dosage: Apply 2–5 kg per acre depending on crop type, growth stage, and soil fertility.

  • Mix well in the fertigation tank and apply during irrigation for precise root zone feeding.

3. Hydroponics / Soilless Culture
  • Used as the primary nutrient source in solution culture systems.

  • Ensure EC and pH monitoring for optimum nutrient uptake.

Time of Application

Apply as per crop growth stage and nutrient requirement:

  • Vegetative Stage: Use high-nitrogen formulas like NPK 20:20:20 or 19:19:19 to promote leaf and stem growth.

  • Flowering Stage: Apply phosphorus-rich blends like NPK 13:40:13 or 12:61:00 to support flower formation and strong root growth.

  • Fruiting Stage: Use potassium-dominant grades like NPK 00:52:34 or 00:00:50 to improve fruit size, color, taste, and shelf life.

  • Frequency: Apply every 7–15 days or as recommended by agronomists based on soil/leaf analysis.

Precautions

  • Do not apply during bright sunlight or strong wind; choose early morning or late afternoon.

  • Always use clean water for solution preparation.

  • Avoid mixing WSFs with incompatible materials such as certain calcium or sulfur-based fertilizers unless compatibility is confirmed.

  • Wear protective gear during handling and spraying.

  • Store in a cool, dry, and shaded area, away from moisture and out of reach of children and animals.
